Today was my first lecture in the unit ‘Development and Realisation’. We spoke about what we will cover within the six week unit and the assignment we have. The first part of the assignment is to:
- Produce a blog (which I have done already)
- Throughout the module reflecting initially on your understanding of communication/information, design and then as a means towards researching and planning your work as a response to the Communication Design A2 Poster brief.
‘You are encouraged to incorporate examples of tests/experiments you have produced in workshops however do not include materials given as part of the module’
The second part of the assignment is to:
Choose one of the subjects listed and visually communicate its idea and a set of data about it as an A2 poster (landscape or portrait format).
I narrowed the subjects down to two out of the given 10:
- Where have you been and when? Visually map the places you have been over the course of your life.
- What is your social network? Visualise your Facebook social network using Facebook’s classification of
close friends, family and acquaintances.
‘Identify data you can source and use which you potentially see as interesting to visualise. Your audience must understand the idea/data from the poster alone and not with the use of supporting material such as a text or verbal explanation’
My next post on this topic will include my chosen subject and research on that subject.
