Photo Task #1 – Research

Our first photo task, set by my Concept and Ideation lecturer was to spend time looking for naturally-occurring shapes which can be photographically framed as each letter from the alphabet. We had to choose a theme to base our letters around, a lot of my classmates chose nature but I wanted to do something different and challenging. I decided to base my letters on travelling, picturing letters from anything I have bought whilst I have been on holiday. I will be using my iPhone 4s to take these images.

Here is an example from CreativePro.com by Brian P. Lawler

Brian P. Lawler – Naturally Occuring Alphabet

To start with, I began looking around my room and found a few possessions such as a  dream catcher, a world map, a Buddha, Indian tapestry art, a penknife and other pieces of memorabilia from countries I have visited. Some of the countries I have items from are; India, Tunisia, USA (Miami and New York), Greece, Spain, Mauritius and Costa Rica.

I found some letters difficult to find , such as Z and E but I eventually got there.
Please read my next post on this task where I will be showing you what my outcome was!
